Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time along with the vanilla extract, mixing well to combine.
  4. Stir in the cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, and salt until just incorporated. Spread this brownie batter in the prepared pan.
  5. Beat the softened cream cheese with sugar, one egg, and vanilla until smooth and creamy. Spread this cheesecake mixture over the brownie layer.
  6. Spoon dollops of warmed blackberry jam or mashed blackberries over the cheesecake layer and create a marbled effect.
  7. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until the center is just set and a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  8. Cool completely in the pan, then chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before slicing.
