Description
A comforting and satisfying dish that elevates classic meatloaf with cheesy goodness and savory onions.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup marinara sauce (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine the ground beef, shredded cheese, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, milk, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Mix until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish and shape it into a loaf.
- Spread marinara sauce on top if using.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes, or until the meat is cooked through and the cheese is bubbly.
- Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For added flavor, try using garlic powder or Italian seasoning in the meat mixture. You can substitute the ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option. If you prefer a spicier kick, add some chopped jalapeños or red pepper flakes.
