  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter for the brownie batter, then stir in granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Sift in cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, and salt, stirring until smooth and lump-free.
  4. For the chocolate chip cookie dough, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add egg and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture and beat until fluffy, then gradually mix in all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt until a soft dough forms.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips gently to distribute evenly.
  7. Spread brownie batter evenly into the lined baking dish, then drop spoonfuls of cookie dough over the batter.
  8. Gently press the cookie dough into the brownie batter and swirl slightly for a marbled effect.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes until edges are set and the center is slightly gooey.
  10. Cool completely in the dish before cutting into squares for serving.
