A comforting dish combining classic French onion soup flavors with hearty potato casserole, perfect for gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup crispy fried onions
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Boil the diced potatoes until tender. Drain and set aside.
  3. Combine the cream of chicken soup, sour cream, cheddar cheese, chopped onion, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl.
  4. Add the cooked potatoes to the mixture and stir until well combined.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
  6. Top with crispy fried onions and dot with butter.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Serve hot as a side dish.
