Description

A delightful sweet bread perfect for Easter brunch, featuring a soft texture and sweet glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 cup milk, warmed
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 23 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
  • Sprinkles or colored sugar for decoration

Instructions

  1. Mix the warm milk and yeast; let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Combine the flour, sugar, and salt in a separate large bowl. Add the melted butter, eggs, yeast mixture, and vanilla extract; mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1-2 hours.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf or braid it. Place it on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Let the bread cool completely.
  9. Mix the powdered sugar and 2-3 tablespoons of milk until smooth for the glaze. Drizzle over the cooled bread and add sprinkles if desired.
