Description

Quick, comforting Japanese Katsu Bowls with crispy chicken cutlets and flavorful tonkatsu sauce served over fluffy rice.


Ingredients

  • 2 Chicken cutlets
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 1 Egg, beaten
  • 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • Cooking oil for frying
  • 2 cups Cooked rice
  • 4 tbsp Tonkatsu sauce
  • 2 Green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken cutlets with salt and pepper.
  2. Dredge each cutlet in flour, dip in beaten egg, and coat with panko breadcrumbs.
  3. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  4. Fry the cutlets for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Remove from the pan and let drain on paper towels.
  6. Serve the cutlets over fluffy rice and drizzle with tonkatsu sauce.
  7. Garnish with chopped green onions and enjoy!

Notes

Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying cutlets. Use panko for a crunchier texture. Experiment with dipping sauces or add vegetables.
