Description

A delightful dessert that combines the tropical flavor of mango with a creamy filling, all in a buttery tart crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and diced
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 23 tbsp cold water
  • 2 ripe mangoes, pureed
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • Whipped cream or fresh fruit for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix flour, sugar, and salt in a bowl. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Stir in the egg yolk and add cold water until a dough forms.
  4. Roll out the dough and fit it into a tart pan. Prick the bottom and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden.
  5. Whisk together the mango puree, sugar, eggs, lime juice, and melted butter in another bowl.
  6. Pour the mango filling into the baked crust and bake for another 25-30 minutes until set.
  7. Allow the tart to cool, then top with whipped cream or fresh fruit before serving.

Notes

Make sure to use ripe mangoes for the best flavor. Chilling the dough helps keep the crust flaky. You can use canned mango puree if fresh is unavailable.
