Description
Fun and spooky mummy-style hot dogs wrapped in puff pastry. A quick and easy Halloween snack that’s golden, crispy, and kid-friendly.
Ingredients
8 hot dog sausages
1 sheet puff pastry (or pizza dough)
1 egg yolk, beaten (for egg wash)
8 small olive slices (for eyes)
1 tbsp mustard or ketchup (to stick the eyes)
6–8 small cheese slices (optional, for extra melty center)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
2. Unroll pastry and cut into strips about 1 cm wide.
3. (Optional) Wrap each sausage with a slice of cheese.
4. Wrap pastry strips around the sausages, leaving a small gap for the “face.”
5. Brush with egg wash.
6. Bake 12–15 minutes until golden brown.
7. Add the eyes: attach olive slices with a dot of mustard or ketchup.
8. Serve warm with ketchup and mustard.
Notes
Pizza dough also works well if you don’t have puff pastry.
Mini sausages make great bite-size mummies.
Cheese + a peppercorn can be used for eyes if you don’t have olives.
Can be prepped ahead and baked last minute for quick serving.
