- 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breast
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon light brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 teaspoon ground paprika
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon butter (diced)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F and lightly grease a 9×13 inch casserole dish.
- Place chicken breasts between plastic wrap and pound to an even thickness of about 0.5 – 0.75 inches. Rub olive oil over them.
- In a bowl, mix brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Coat the chicken evenly with the seasoning mix.
- Arrange seasoned chicken in the casserole dish; top each piece with a slice of butter.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Then, broil for an additional 1-3 minutes for browning.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in the seasoning mix for a few hours before baking. Ensure chicken breasts are of even thickness to cook uniformly.
