- ½ teaspoon peppermint extract
- ¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ¼ cup crushed candy canes or peppermint candies
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Add the eggs, vanilla extract, and peppermint extract to the wet mixture and mix until well combined.
- Pour the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and crushed candy canes.
- Form dough balls of 1 to 2 tablespoons each and place them on the prepared baking sheets.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, then let cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
