- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup chopped apples
- 1/4 cup cinnamon sugar (for rolling)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cream of tartar, ground cinnamon, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined. Gently fold in the chopped apples.
- Scoop spoonfuls of dough and roll into balls, then roll each ball in cinnamon sugar.
- Place the sugar-coated dough balls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For a chewier cookie, avoid overbaking. They should look slightly underdone when you take them out.
