- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons red food coloring
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup white chocolate chunks
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate large bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy and smooth.
- Add the egg, red food coloring, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, mixing until well blended.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Don’t overmix!
- Gently fold in the white chocolate chunks.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until the edges are set and the centers are slightly soft.
- Allow cookies to cool slightly on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For added flavor, try adding a pinch of espresso powder or nuts.
