Description

An easy and delicious dessert that combines cheesecake and strawberries in a simple dump cake format, perfect for summer gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced (or frozen strawberries)
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (or coconut sugar)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 box yellow cake mix (or gluten-free cake mix)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted (or coconut oil)
  • 1 cup milk (or dairy-free milk)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the sliced strawberries with 1/4 cup of granulated sugar in a medium bowl and let sit for 10 minutes.
  3. Beat the softened cream cheese with 3/4 cup of sugar and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Mix the yellow cake mix, melted butter, milk, and salt in a large bowl until just combined.
  5. Pour half of the cake batter into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  6. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the batter, then layer the strawberries on top.
  7. Finish with the remaining cake batter over the strawberries.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  9. Cool for 10-15 minutes before dusting with powdered sugar and serving.

Notes

Great served warm or at room temperature. Optional: add vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
