Description
Enjoy a homemade version of the popular Taco Bell Nacho Fries with crispy fries and creamy cheese sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 teaspoons Salt
- 2 Tablespoons Paprika
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 2 teaspoons Chili Powder
- 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper (Optional)
- 16 slices American Cheese
- 1/4 cup Milk
- 1 Tablespoon Liquid from the Jar of Jalapeño Slices
- 1 pound Ore-Ida Extra Crispy Frozen Fast Food Fries
- Vegetable Oil for Frying
Instructions
- In a small bowl, stir together your seasoning mixture.
- Fill a saucepan with the oil at least 3 inches deep and heat the oil to 350°F (180°C).
- Cook the fries in the hot oil for 6 to 8 minutes or until they are crispy. Then move the fries to a plate lined with paper towels to soak up the extra oil.
- Let the fries slightly cool, and then make the cheese sauce.
- Unwrap the cheese and tear the slices into smaller pieces. Place the cheese and the other cheese sauce ingredients into a microwave-safe bowl.
- Microwave the mixture uncovered in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval until the cheese has melted and is well combined with the other ingredients.
- Place the fries in a large mixing bowl and add the seasoning mix. Serve the fries with the cheese sauce on the side and enjoy!
Notes
Serve hot with optional jalapeño slices on top. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
