Description

A classic dish featuring juicy chicken breasts coated in a crispy, flavorful crust. Perfect for family dinners and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Gravy (for serving)
  • Mashed potatoes (for serving)
  • Green beans (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken breasts in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes or overnight in the refrigerator.
  2. Mix together flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a shallow dish.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Remove chicken from buttermilk, letting excess drip off, and dredge each piece in the flour mixture, coating well.
  5. Carefully place the chicken in the hot oil and fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side.
  6. Drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve the fried chicken with gravy, mashed potatoes, and green beans.

Notes

For best results, marinate the chicken overnight and maintain the oil temperature around 350°F while frying.
